How much does a digital battery passport cost?
With Batteriepasswerk you start at €0: the Pilot plan includes 1 battery model and up to 25 passports per year for free. Paid plans: Starter €149 / month (up to 2,000 passports per year), Pro €449 / month (up to 25,000 passports per year - on average 22 cents per passport), Enterprise from €1,290 / month with a custom quota.
Are there setup fees or hidden costs?
No. There are no setup fees, no onboarding lump sum and no upfront IT project. All prices are per month excluding VAT; passport quotas apply per contract year.
What happens if I exceed my passport quota?
The volume add-on kicks in automatically: €0.05 per additional passport. There is no forced upgrade to the next-larger plan - you only pay for what you actually create.
Is the Pilot plan really free?
Yes. Pilot includes 1 battery model, up to 25 passports per year, the GS1 Digital Link QR code, the public passport page, EU hosting in Germany, plus JSON and CSV export - for €0.
Is every battery passport also a Digital Product Passport (DPP)?
Yes, at no extra cost. The battery passport is the EU's first legally mandatory Digital Product Passport (DPP). Every passport from Batteriepasswerk ships with the complete DPP architecture - a unique identifier per unit, a GS1 Digital Link QR code and role-based data access - starting with the free Pilot plan.
Which plan fits my volume?
Rule of thumb: up to 25 passports per year Pilot, up to 2,000 Starter, up to 25,000 Pro - beyond that, or with ERP integration, Annex X workflow and multi-site needs, Enterprise. The price calculator on this page recommends the right plan live and shows your effective price per passport.
Which plan includes the REST API?
The full REST API v1 for ERP and MES is part of the Enterprise plan. The BMS telemetry interface is included from Pro. An API test key is available in every plan, including the free Pilot: it validates every request in full and stores nothing, so you can build and sign off the integration before you buy.
