02 · Transition
What happens right after cancellation
From the effective date, your account enters a 60-day transition mode. Plenty of time to plan calmly.
QR codes remain public
All active passports remain accessible to the public, recyclers and authorities. You continue to meet your legal availability obligation.
No new passports
Creating new passports is disabled during this phase.
No invoices
No new charges are raised during the transition.
03 · Three options
What happens to your passports afterwards?
Decide before the 60 days are up. Pick whichever fits your situation — we actively help with the handover.
Option A
Migration to another provider
Full export as JSON / AAS submodel per DIN DKE SPEC 99100 — standard-compliant and accepted by other passport solutions. We support actively with a handover checklist and a technical contact person.

Archive plan (read-only)
Existing passports stay with Batteriepasswerk — read-only, no new creation. QR codes and role-based views keep working. Ideal if you no longer place new batteries on the market.

Lifetime archive (one-off)

05 · Data escrow
What if Batteriepasswerk itself disappears?
As a manufacturer you are legally required to keep your passports available — even if your software vendor exits the market. That’s why we’ve set up a data escrow. Even in a worst case you don’t lose a single passport.

Daily escrow backup
Encrypted backup to an independent escrow provider based in Germany. You keep control of the encryption keys.

Insolvency clause
In the event of insolvency you receive a full data export within 14 days in an open standard — directly from the escrow agent.

Standard-compliant storage
No proprietary formats. DIN DKE SPEC 99100 and AAS submodel — migratable to competitors or your own infrastructure at any time.
Annual integrity audit
An independent body confirms every year that the escrow backups are complete and readable. Pro and Enterprise customers receive the audit report on request.

Contract term & cancellation in plain language
