Do I need a separate passport for every battery?
Yes. The EU Battery Regulation requires a separate digital battery passport with a QR code per unit — not per model. Batteriepasswerk serialises thousands of passports automatically from a single model template.
What exactly does the EU Battery Regulation say?
Regulation 2023/1542 mandates a digital battery passport for EV, LMT and industrial batteries above 2 kWh from 18 February 2027, accessible via a QR code on the battery.
Do you calculate the carbon footprint?
No. You provide the LCA figure from your own calculation — we store it in a structured way and display it in the passport in line with the regulation.
Is this DIN SPEC 99100 compliant?
Yes. The data structure follows DIN DKE SPEC 99100, the QR code follows GS1 Digital Link. Data is hosted in the EU.
Can I use public funding?
Onboarding and digitalisation projects can be eligible for funding depending on the region and programme. Please check eligibility individually — we can support with documentation.
